Having bull riding in his blood could be why Everett Erickson climbed on his first bull. Erickson came from a family that loved to ride and work cattle; in fact, his father was a bull rider for many years. He credits his father to teaching him how to ride and considers him his role model—inside and outside of the arena.
Erickson’s worst bull riding injury was when he got a broken leg on a Navajo Reservation which sidelined the cowboy for one and a half years.
Erickson considers his greatest bull riding accomplishment the 92 point ride he made on BowTech’s Toy Tiger at the BFTS event in St. Louis in 2005. The ride was enough to win the second go-round and $2730 in prize money.
