The Locke Crew

We have a large crew of family, customers, and partners.  Listed below with a short bio are some of the key players that have made the Locke breeding program a success.

Johnny and Cheryl Locke                                                                                    Nocona, Texas

We owe the start of the operation to Johnny's multiple concussions.  That seems like an odd way to start a business, but it was an end to a bull riding career and an obvious transition into raising bulls.  Johnny and Cheryl have 4 grown children, Jennifer, David, Jodi, and Jessica, who have all been a part of the operation throughout their childhood till present.  They have one grandson and are expecting a granddaughter around the first of the year.

David, Annette, Zac, and Ethan Locke                                                           Monroe, Georgia

Johnny gave David his first cow at a very young age and that got him "hooked"!!! It's been bulls and cows 24/7 since then.  David and Annette have been married 18 years this fall and have two sons, Zachary 15 and Ethan is 9.  David and Annette, after having lived in Texas their entire lives, now live in Monroe, Georgia. David is the expert on our genetics and bloodlines. He can and would be glad to answer any and all questions concerning where and who our herd came from. Feel free to give him a call anytime. David- 940-783-3032  or email at DAZLOCKE@AOL.COM.

Jeff and Jodi Scott were married on May 25, 2012, but Jeff has been part of the family and business long before that.  Their first trip together was to the Spring Spectacular in Stephenville, Texas, and the first time Jodi brought Jeff home to meet the folks was the weekend of the Nocona Bullfest.  So it has been bulls from the beginning. They now live in Oklahoma City where Jeff is a 2L at Oklahoma City University School of Law, and Jodi is a full time nanny of 1 year old twins.  They do most of their contributions to the operation on occasional weekends or though the internet.  So e-mail or call and we can help you find what your looking for!  Jeff-(254)718-9705  Jodi-(940)872-7324 email:jodilocke8@yahoo.com

Named breeder of the year in the NBBA in 2011, the Locke and Prewitt partnership has been a success from the beginning.  It originated on a return flight from Vegas to Lubbock after the PBR Finals.  David Locke, Johnny's son, struck up a conversation with David Prewitt, a notable west Texas farmer.  (We have a few David's in our crew.)  The conversation led to a competition partnership with a set of embryo calves.  After evaluating the calf crop and the long road to prepare weanling bull calves for a 2 year old futurity year, we came out with 2011 futurity champion 908 Catahoula!  Catahoula, now an outstanding derby bull, is the icing on the cake for this great partnership with a number of great bucking bull athletes.
